Cana, Nazareth, Caesarea and then... home!

Good afternoon everyone!
I have have arrived safely back to Minnesota. I am writing this segment from my office at the parish. Two weeks is a long time to be gone (at least it seems like a long time:)!
Our last day in Israel was a great one - but it was also a long one! We started the day early with a 6:15 a.m. wake up call, breakfast at 7:00 a.m. and at the bus at 8:15 a.m. and leave at 8:30 a.m. We had to have our luggage ready to go that morning and check out of our rooms before we left.

Leaving Tiberias...

Good morning everyone - it is 8:00 a.m. here in Israel. All of you are probably sleeping - or should be:)!
We are leaving Tiberius in a half hour. I probably will not be able to get on line until I get back to Minnesota. Thank you for your prayers for safe travel. I will remember you during our visits to the holy sites today and during Holy Mass in Nazareth. God bless your day and see back in Minnesota!

Mt. Beatitude, Church of the Primacy of St. Peter and the St. Peter fish?

Good afternoon everyone! I pray you are having a blessed Sunday!
This morning we had a later start than usual. We had breakfast and then left the hotel at 9 a.m.for a boat ride on the Sea of Galilee (also called Lake Genesseret). We boarded a boat that was an approximate replica of one Jesus would have used two thousand years ago (except it was powered by a big diesel engine:).

Cesarea Phillipi, the confession of Peter and Capharnaum

Good afternoon everyone! I am writing before dinner today as we have a bit of free time. Today we enjoyed a wonderful breakfast at 7 a.m. and then boarded our bus to go to Cesarea Phillipi. It was about an hour drive from Tiberias.

Jerash, the border and Mt. Tabor and the Transfiguration of Our Lord!

Good evening everyone! I hope you are having a blessed day! We had a blessed day in the Holy Land! Our day began early with breakfast at 6:30 a.m. We then boarded the bus to go to the the Roman provinical city of Jerash. This city was first constructed by the Greeks and later expanded by the Romans when they conquered the area. They turned this city into one of the Decopolis cities that specialized in trade. It has a long main street that has many side booths made of stone built into the road.

Church of Christ the King school, The baptism of the Lord and the Greek Orthodox Church of St. George in Madaba

Good afternoon everyone (it is now 6:10 p.m. in Jordan)! I am writing this entry for the second time and I do not have much time. I am not sure what happened just a few minutes ago, but my page went away and I got back a blank one. Thus, my writing today will be a little shorter. The only consolation is that today was a slower day as far as events goes.
We enjoyed a wonderful breakfast that was 'international'! In a matter of 30 minutes I met a couple from South Africa and a visitor to Jordan from Germany. I saw many others were from other countries as well.

We are Amman, Jordan!

Good evening everyone! It is now about 9:50 p.m. here. I think it is about 1:50 p.m. in Minnesota. I hope you are having a blessed day!

Latin Patriarch of Jerusalem and Petra

Hello everyone! We are now in the Crown Plaza just outside of the ancient rock city of Petra. We just finished a wonderful buffet meal that included some local samples (a regional fish and several Mediterranean salads) as well as international selections (Pasta with red sauce and beef tacos:)!).

The Wailing Wall and the Visitation

Hello everyone! First, I want to thank all those who have posted comments. I enjoy reading your impressions and knowing you are benefitting from this little effort to share my experiences. If you have any questions please let me know. If I can answer them I will.

Anther remarkable day!

Hello everyone! Thank you for your prayers! I felt much better today. The cough and runny nose was much better. I had a good night of sleep last night as well - the best so far.
This morning we had a wake up call at 6:45 a.m. and then breakfast. Breakfast has been pretty much the same each day: bread, olives (three different kinds - two types of green and black - I like them all), scrambled eggs, meat that is like our hot dogs, sliced and warmed mushrooms, and boiled eggs. Oh, and I must not forget the coffee. The coffee is great here.
